Corahtar Discipline and pheroware tactics

Tohaa act with pheremones. we do stink. in triads, we have a connection that no other race has by this way.

So our units know how to control others, through the emissions of pheremones. We have only one unit, who is qualified with this. ava2 Keltars.

Keltars and their babies are an other days' topic therefore let me turn to my main subject of this day. What does corahtar discipline do and how we can we use the pheroware tactics.

One day will come and we will meet with our corahtar level 2 unit, which we wait with tears in our eyes. Before that, we have to continue doing things pheremonic with only level 1, which is available for us for the moment.

As all tohaa players know, we can attach our symbiont bombs and mates to our units who has already symbiont armor on. While the famous mate option, which is used more is providing us to eliminate succesful hits, there is also bomb option which i like personally alot.

In this thread, we will investigate pheroware tactics, which we can use only 2 times per one game since we will be taking max one keltar with this ability. Because we need at least one keltar with chain of command. Mates are very important for tohaa units.

2 times seem little bit underwhelmed at first sight, but it brings many different options at one time. first of all, we can give these abilities to any troop with symbiont armor. Gorgos can have it, gaoreel and sukeul as well. and others who has our special armor.

Pheroware tactics basicaly are the hacking tactics that we can use against "wound" troops and support tactics that we can buff/heal our own troops.

We will check them one by one and i will try to give examples showing how we can use them effectively.

Support tactics

Mirrorball
Mirrorball does excatly what hacking device plus hackers do in an alien way. It obscures lof  for msv ability troops. How can we use it ? it is pretty simple. Give your sukeul a bomb and enjoy hitting hard to msv troops. Since we can take it on any symbiont trooper, we can take it with our links and use it in the right place.

Against konstantinos in mid table for instance. idea is, choosing a point in zone of control of our tactic user. after succesful roll, now there is a circular area there for you to attack or hide from msv troops.

Nimbus Sphere
Well. useless looking on first sight, when you compare with all other tactics. Because we already have nimbus plus on sakiels, that we always take at least 1-2 units. However on solo units like rasail, it really shines. Rasail can use this tactic to arrange an area for himself to attack with her chaksas' heavy flame thrower.

Maybe rasail can attack right flank troopers, while nimbus zone gives -3 modifier to left side to face heavyflame thrower while she is attacking to left flank troopers. Rasail, what a wonderful troop you are!

Gorgos has also pulzar and a chaksa to make a similar attack.

But in a triad, hard to find a usage, that really worths.

First Aid
Idea here is canceling unconscious effect in zone of control, if the target already has a symbiont armor. So any trooper with this ability can do the doctoring work. Can work time to time.

In a link consiting of 2 symbiont armed troopers, can work together much more easily. Sakiel paramedic, sakiel viral combi and makaul trio is a good example. give the bomb to sakiel viral combi. if the viralcombi one gets unc., paramedic can help him, if the paramedic gets unc, now the bomb can be activated.

Revitalis
For multiwound troops, this option lets us to recover 1 wound. Gorgos, rasail, neema and ectros loves that. Neema with wip15 - %75 of the situations will recover and it is a good ratio. Anyways if there is a Neema in your army give her a bomb for sure.

Attack tactics

End Game
I like this one. Fantastic. This burst 2 attack can be made against any wound trooper that is in our zone of control , if it has no camo marker already on. Idea is taking the rats out with sensor troops and using these bombs against them.

It is like semi guided missile -grenade type attack with a spotlight sauce. Wip is important here. The opponent has to make a reset roll against your wip rolls. Kosuil and Gao Reel with wip 14 and Neema with wip 15 are the best candidates for this job.

In aro, it is one roll only, but it is almost like a single koala. Nice. I like defensive tools.

There is a fantastic synergy, that it provides you in close range fight, if you bring a troop like kosuil shotgun. Imagine that you smile in cover and ask for an aro from a single trooper.

Now you have a chance for an attack, that your enemy can not run away. If the opponent answers by an attack Aro, you can use your shotgun for better chance. If he likes to dodge, use end game tactics. If he resets, just kill him with shotgun. This situation gets better with rasail and with her gsync chaksa. Think about it.

Eraser
With better attacking options and better consequences, this tactic really rocks. Give your opponent extra -3 mod in ARO and attack with 2 burst again with DT ammo this time. if you succeed, you will put your opponent in isolated state.

Against very strong multi wound troops, this idea is excellent. Achiles will suffer from -3 mod and wip will lower to 12 for instance. two bts roll is dangerous and if isolated, achiles has nothing left to do much in the field. In ARO also works, tactical user can use this tactic, while other members of the triad reacts with fire. Poor achiles has to choose to do dodge, reset or to fire.

Hellzone
I like this one too. Acts as same with others in active or reactive turn, this tactic gives us a chance to immobilise our opponents like hackers do. It is state IMM1, ok not perfect but it will stop and bind the opponent immediately.

I like it, because in my triads i love to take a makaul always. Use the tactic and send makaul to kill that foe. Order consuming, but a precise tactic.

+3 modifier on attacking and DT ammo gives us a good chance achieving the tactic.

Pandemonium
Give your opponent -3 mod to defend themselves and attack with 3 burst this time. With a breaker ammo, you will succeed most of the time. Your opponent will get stunned. He not attack back any more. And he gets extra -3 on any rolls he will made except arm/bts rolls.

There is a very good synergy here, if you brought a triad with makauls and sakiels. Use the sakiel and throw nimbus plus grenade. And then use pandemonium. Order consuming but, now attack with makaul heavy flame.

Your opponent cant dodge properly any more. -6 from nimbus plus -3 from pandemonium makes -9 mod for dodging these flames.

Against a haramaki link, a wuming link, achiles what ever who has wounds atribute can not stand in your way.

Last Words

You can think that just 2 times are too few. think about how many times you use your hacking device plus unit. 1? 2? maybe 3? How many times have you used spotlight in one game ? Never ? One maybe 2 ?

2 is good, more could be better  yes but still efficient when you really need it.

Now we are waiting corahtar discipline level 2 maybe level 3 units. This will bring much more variety in our army and elegancy in an alien way.
