New Aeleis Keesan

Aeleis Keesan has been revised!


This was expected since DHD really sucks on an unit that has to march forward in a link. However we were not expecting to receive a killer hacker frankly speaking. But it happened. Now, we can enjoy it.

Lets check what we have by investigating on stats.


Ok. Here we go! First of all, now she is more cheaper. Instead of DHD, she gains killer hacker device. So she is a specialist still, but a better one. 

WIP 14 killer hacker is something dangerous for the hidden hackers. And more dangerous if this troop has also has sensor. Aeleis Keesan is the only hacker with sensor!

The idea is simple. You will move with Aeleis and ask to your hidden opponent, if he has an Aro. if he doesnt have, sensor it. We are now safe against hackers.

Aeleis Keesan, a symbiont troop and makaul together is a fantastic trio now. Lets check.

Take a keltar with bombs and give to sakiel one. Now these trio is very dangerous alltogether.

You have a killer hacker and a paramedic to push buttons and do the missions. Makaul to double flame and burn everything. Eclipse grenades to hide. viral to kill and nimbus plus grenade for tricks. You have many tactical options in one party. 

Lets evaluate what will killer hacker brings here.

Pandemonium + killer hacker 
Yes . You can do that now. Use sakiel in this example for pandemonium effect. Pandemonium is very powerful and easy for you to succeed. After then, you can use your Aeleis to kill the hacker much more easily. Pandemonium is a burst 3 attack with breaker ammo and has dmg of 14. you give your opponent extra -3 mod when defending herself.

If Aeleis uses killer hacker program "redrum", now you threat your opponent with -6 mod. really deadly.

killer hackers have cybermasks
Yes. Dont forget about that. İf you have makauls around, makauls are to kill things and die afterwards with positive mini trades. you can kill 3 ghulams and loose makaul at the end for instance. So Aeleis no can take the role in different way. Use cybermask and move with your deadly killer hacker to suprise attack your opponents with viral or k1 combi. hide yourself and push buttons.

she has dharges too. Now imagine that you move with your cybermask and try to put that dharge on the tag. cc14 with -3 mod not bad. something to keep in mind.

hacker is a protector
killer hacker is a powerful protector for Neema and Ectros likes. You can take one of these guys more safely now. You can sensor and kill the hacker if he shows up.

I really like this idea. Think for a while the things you can do with this trio.

In long range it is fine, shorter range fine too. In close range, you can use the viral pistols,heavy flames,nanopulsers or k1 combi stuff. Neema is an exxcellent bomb carrier too. If there is a camo, give Aeleis the lead to kill hackers or sensor camo troopers. Aeleis in aro can kill the hackers coming closer to Neema and becomes a serious protector.

cybermask means camo and a friend 
i want to write it seperately. If you cybermask Aeleis, you can put her in a place inside of a repeater range and safely stay there and you are still a threat. Moreover cybermask can protect the group members if your opponent has template weapons. Use cybermask and get closer to your troops as much as possible. You will protect your guys because any template attack that aims Aeleis will be null from now on.

According to new tactical options Aeleis provides us, i want to give new Aeleis Keesan 83 out of 100 points. She is much more useful and can be taken time to time from now on.

Why are rasails awesome!!

Rasails are awesome.

Very useful units that gives tricky attacking options on battlefield.


They are awesome, because.

1. They are cheap
Yes they are. Effective 3 wounds together with a chaksa heavyflame is no joke and it is really affordable in cost. In any other army, there are tags with 3 wounds and you know the costs of them. And not hackable like tags because they are light infantries. A real bullet magnet with cheap price label takes attention indeed.

2. They are tricky
They have many tricks in their bags. Mates and bombs can be attached to rasail and it gives you extra wound(or wounds) and attacking options too. Nanoscreen makes you feel safe anywhere. With chaksa who has heavy flame and pistols too, you can damage your opponent really badly.  Turn the corner, together with your chaksa and ask your opponent about the aro. heavyflame the links while attacking the sniper with rasail and enjoy using the mate. use the bomb if you prefer.

3. They dont die
Hard to loose her. They can stay on the table all along the game. With 2 wounds, plus symbiont and the mates, your opponent will have real hard times destroying it. She is always in cover and it gives extra arm of 3 and negative modifier of 3 to opponent all the time. Rasails are acting like arm 4 bts 6, 3 wounds troopers in most of the games.


4. They are sexy and have cool variants
Look at this mini above. Gorgeous mini indeed. All the variants are useful. Minelayers, viral combi, shotguns,spitfire, contenders.

5. Optimum stats
bs 12 which is ok, wip 13 not bad.ph 11 but you dont have grenades. cc15 not the worst one to defend herself. arm 1 and bts 3 is ok with that much other plus things coming with her. Price doesnt go up so much.

and here are the alternatives we have.

Rasail combi with mines 34pts
Cheap and reliable. Have many things in one package. Not the best killer but very effective in cost. Combi + heavyflame together is still very dangerous for the opponent. it deserves 89 pts out of 100 points. he is a gem.

Rasail boarding shotgun+contender 35pts
Use the smokes and march forward. very dangerous in mid table. his aro is more stronger that other rasails with a template weapon or DA ammo. strong and effective in mid table and weak against aros if you are short in smokes. 88 pts out of 100 points.

Rasail viral combi 39pts
Other name of the death. Real destroyer. Viral combi 3 burst with heavyflame. Threat of countless arm-bts saves for the opponents. One of the best units in tohaa. 91 points out of 100 points.

Rasail spitfire 39pts 2swc
Longer range hero. Very deadly and more burst really shines. Harder to select this one or viral as a main unit for your game. i  give this one 90 points out of 100 points.

Rasail  2 contenders plus light shotgun 36pts
Interesting option. Somewhere between viral and boarding shotgun selection. Not strong like of these but makes the same job at one time. 88 pts out of 100 points is well deserved.

Lt options are better. Hard to die lt with chain of command insurance that can use lt orders safely is not something that you see everyday.

Rasails are one of the best and fruitful units of the game.

Sad times ahead

Tohaa fans are not happy these days. Since july 2017 to march 2018, we had only neema spitfire model. 8 months with a single model only is a bit discouraging.


Some players who are close to corvus belli claims that tohaa was designed to be a sectorial army not a real faction, which makes me worry more since i want to spend money on my army and looking for more options. I am tired of taking sukeul,sakiel,makauls,keltar and taking a few others after.




I feel that tohaa needs at least 5-6 models that gives more options especialy without fireteam/gsync abilities. Gorgos, rasail, kerails are units coming with other units and that makes tohaa hard to find coordinated actions since we already have 2-3 fireteams at least.

and in LA we heard that nothing coming for us at all, along the year and will be a quite and calm year for us. There will be 5 sectorials coming this year and sorry but neither of them is the triumvirate.

i still expect to see one or two blisters this year. but better i concentrate on other things.

Ectros "the bullet magnet"

After HMG Sukeul arrived, many people dont use ectros in their lists any more. It doesnt make Ectros a poor unit, but less selected these days.

Actually i love ectros for a few reasons, that i will tell in this thread later. He can be useful especially after N3 arrived.


After N3, a new rule in its appeared. There is now data trackers. Data tracker has to arrive to the right place, will be killing things and may have to survive still. Ectros is one of the best candidate for this in tohaa.


Ectros is a 2 wounds unit with an extra symbiont armor to use. If you give him a mate, he can survive for many orders. Arm 3 and bts 6 makes him more tougher than sukeul.

Ph 14 is really interesting with a shock cc weapon in hand with eye catching CC of 19. Think about this. Ectros will be in triad. He can attack with 3 burst CC19, when the conditions are right.

All the variants have nanopulsers to hit twice in aro and in active turn.

Lets give some points to the variants we have.

Ectros viral combi (LT)
Ectros viral is a short range killer with 4 bursts in closer ranges. 43 points is not bad with this much survivability. Viral is viral and very dangerous weapon in active turn especially. I give him 76 points out of 100 points.


Ectros HMG
This is our man. Strong in attacking and doesnt give up easily. Expensive 2swc but 45 points is really affordable. Main candidate for data tracker duty and model is one of the best in tohaa.I give him 81 points out of 100 points.

Ectros Vulkan Shotgun
My personal favorite. I take him time to time. What a killer in close range and damn cheap still. For 38 points, you get a killer with bs19 -3 burst sprayer in close range. Close range killing machine kills anything on his way. I give this variant 84 points out of 100 points.

And that nullifiers plus other ideas in gorgos thread is still valid here too. Taqeul can be a good lt to help Ectros in duty.

Brings two cheap specialists to the mid table. Hard to destroy killing machine. Hacker can be handy to help ectros with fairy dust.

Damn deadly in closer ranges with several weapon options. Nullifier helps Ectros to survive more easily. Can do the missions still. Fire + Viral + k1 ammo trio in same package.


Thats what i will tell about ectros. In N2 times, he was out only man in poor triads when options were limited. Then there had been many alternatives. However nowadays, he is still really solid and strong unit to punch things.

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

A movie from our childhood and suitable for to define our less used specialists in tohaa. Before the new year, here is my final thread of 2017.

Kosuil, Kumotail and Aleis Keesan.


These 3 specialist units are now part of the history like the original movie. It is hard to take one in to your lists and only when all the situations are right, they become fruitful.

we have fantastic specialists nowadays. Sakiel paramedic or fo, sukuel fo, chain of command keltars and clipso fo are cool options. After taking some heavy hitters, most probably you wont be looking these old options. Lets evaluate them and find together the possible best ideas to use them in right way.

IL BUONO (The Good) Kosuils
Kosuils are still selectable. The models are good and when you need to deploy a Gorgos, you may find them, even essential. However, there are better options now.

Kosuils are wip 14 specialists and a good way to use the bombs with their symbiont armor. K1 rifle with engineer option though a bit expensive. You will rather spending 3 more points to take a sukeul forward observer.

Engineer is an expensive skill but fruitful but... not in tohaa. There is nobody around that you can heal at all. Even you cant heal your tag. There is only kaauri that you may think about healing which will be wasting time and orders for me.

If you are planning to take a bomb, wip14 is cool enough and maybe you can take the shotgun version. Shotgun variant is the cheapest specialist one available. 24 points is not bad. i give this variant 67 points out of 100 points.


You can take the minelayer option not as a specialist but a hitter in triad which is a good idea. mines/k1 ammo are two nice things and you wont be spending on expensive engineer skill. Still nice wip that gets well with bombs. i give 69 points out of 100 points for this variant.

Kosuil engineer with k1 rifle is 29 points. That makes me think twice about him. Anyways, valuable second hitter when you are taking HI and Gorgos profiles. i give 65 points out of 100 points.

We have concerns but kosuil is still a good option, that you can take in your games.

IL BRUTTO (The bad) Kumotail
I have never liked you. There are many players that like kumotail and have used kumotail time to time. Being engineer and a doctor at the same time, which are completely out of place for tohaa for me, hard to use unit for your armies.

In tohaa, we have the best paramedics and you can gain their help with no negative modifier on ph on symbiont troops, which you will spend your orders to heal them back. You will use ph10-11 sometimes 12 and it is still good chance to revive your troops.


Kumotail coming with fireteam, which doesnt allow you to use your servants at all. Sakiel paramedic is 2 points cheaper than kumotail. Comeon, why will i take a kumotail ?

After kaauris, situation is abit better. Now you can use kumotail alone with 2 servants and can put servant near a kaauri sniper, while keeping the other for w troopers. But paying extra for fireteam and using solo still sucks.

Kumotail is a bad option. I cant see my self using one. i give kumotail 30 points out of 100 points.

IL CATTIVO (The Ugly) Aelis Keesan
My ex love Aeleis dont seem to me beautiful any more. Spending 32-33 points and getting a specialist with a good weapon for a price level of sukuel forward observer.

Aelis model is also not beautiful for my eyes, more ugly thing is good ideas are killed with needless costly details.

Sensor + specialist in a triad in fantastic. Especially if you have k1 and viral weapons in hand. Good killer with sensor is nice. Why she has many pistols on model is still such a misery.


Regeneration is an expensive skill. Defensive hacking device too. These 2 skills on same model sucks and increasing the cost a lot.

there are also coming flash pulse, nanopulser and dcharges to increase the cost more.

I would prefer Aelis with some pheroware tactics. Instead of defensive hacking, a specialist. Getting rid of regeneration but gaining ODD for instance. Close range fighter with odd is awesome.

Sensor + triangulated fire is the only reason that will make you think about taking Aleis to your army. Sensor + bomb is an effective tactics against camo troops. triangulated fire + k1 is a bane for mighty Avatar and one of the best combinations of the game.

Anyways, getting harder to take her in competitive games. I give Aleis 56 points out of 100 points. At least she needs a very quick change to white hacker but i keep my hopes for logical change with the coming new book.

Biggest threat for tohaa "suprise!"

I am a tohaa player and i feel the deficiencies which tohaa has. We dont have hackers rems etc and others but biggest threat for us is the suprise attacks.

Strangely, i dont hear about this much in forums at all.

Strong side of tohaa is the resilience and 2 burst aro defence. However we dont have axess to six sense ability except kaauris.

Do we have a solution for that ?

Frankly speaking no. But some ideas can help and work.


Against assasins
These bastards are very dangerous. Take care about them and be well prepared in deployment zone. They often send a smoke grenade and start striking afterwards. Oftenly they bring a mine to your deployment zone very easily.

Try to discover them. Because they dont have 2 levels like against other armies. If we can discover them, they become naked. take a kaauri for many reasons.

Deploy so that, you can see many units at once and try to take a gaoreel too. Use a mate on gaoreel and pray not to receive a crit.

If your opponent can not crit you, most probably can die with other units in your army with template weapons. Kaauris have nanopulsers, makauls and chaksas have heavy flamers. Assasins dont love us.

try to bring bombs too. You can aro them with a bomb. But crucial thing is, face to face is a face to face. so most of the time , assasins have better chance of killing you. Better idea is giving a mate for a potential victim and giving a bomb to a protector. If your gorgos has the mate, give bomb to sakiel paramedic nearby.

Take the first turn always. against assasins, you will hardly find any defence. so better attacking first!

Bring symbiobugs and symbio bombs and some mines with minelayers. This will make the fiday owner to afraid to come closer. He can still risk and kill his target - but dying at the end and loosing something 30 points will hurt his feelings.

i wish you best luck against them. you will need it.


Against spetnaz and other long range suprise killers
If you meet with spetnaz, there is nothing you can do at all. Spetnaz will strike and you will show the resistance. You can only give a mate for your aro piece and ask from God for better dice rolls.

Look at the example below.
both are in their good range and kamael is linked. These are the results in suprise mod. Solid kamael sniper has no chance against spetsnazs. So keep him at home.

Sukeul is better when you compare it with other units. However, she still cant withstand the storm of bullets at all.

Doesnt work as you see.

So, if you face an opponent with this ability, keep your aro troops at home. There is no defence you can create against them. You can try to aro with several units at once and seing spetnaz with several troops. But it is not easy. They have camo and they can strike in the right place to avoid such a defence.

Suprise attacks are our bane and this is much more deadly than fire.

On my way for a new diorama

I like fluffy things and thats why i like tohaa. Tohaa for me is the most fluffy army in all among other factions. Therefore they need some fluffy look in where they stand.

One year ago, i made this diorama for my tohaa.


It was beautiful indeed. I decided to give it to one of my friends as a present, since he was starting tohaa those days.

Before the new year, i asked myself. " Why dont i make a better one ? "

Corvus Belli designed a very nice diorama. Check out this beauty and other pictures below.


Triangle shapes defining the triads. Special planet plants in green and cemetary of tohaa. What a brillant idea and execution of it.


Alex made all of things according to famous Bostrias' drawings. Tohaa alphabet was also a cool idea. I must push borders and make a really beautiful one.

I ordered few things from green stuff world and waiting them to come to start my works. Magnets, plasticards, green stuff and blue stuff mold to copy few things.

More things and more suprises will follow. i am still searching nice things around and gather when ever i come across.


This kind of movement trays i am planning to glue on the diorama. But most probably will make my own ones. This will make my minis to look more tidy and more fluffy. Will use magnets here.

After i gather everything, will start really slowly and try my best to make special diorama for a very special army.
